Update 8!!!

Everyone, thanks for your gracious comments. Great to see some familiar folks from the old forum. :D

I finally have another update for you. I've been toiling away working on completing the engine to trans belt drive, the housing for the belt drive, and the foot pedals as well as the gear shift and brake pedals. My biggest frustration is trying to make sense of blurry reference pics . The rear brake setup is something I had to get from a different bike design because I just couldn't figure out what was going on with the reference pics I have. Just one of the many artistic liberties I've taken. What I would give to have high res pics of the whole bike.

Anyway, here are some pics. I provided some closeups of the engine and transmission to showcase its detail.

Additional pics for update8:

Reminds me of the MT-01 engine....You have captured really good detail. It's a pleasure to see you progress on this!

Ok, folks, getting real close to being done with the 3d model. I think I just have the license plate holder/brake light and the kick stand. When its done, I plan to do a white model prototype to make sure everything fits properly. Then I'll texture it.

I did some tweaking and got the renders to look a lot better. I also had some fun with the "toon" rendering option which I think looks freaking cool.

Since last time, the major things I've added the air filter and the seat. I also went over the whole model and inspected it for errors and also increased the polygon count of some structures.

Anyway here are the cool renders I made.

Also, here are the same images above but done with a more realistic rendering.

Great stuff there Loudog.....Can't wait get my hands on this one...Just a suggestion though..the headlamp would look a lot better if it was a little further down the forks...Think that it will give the bike a leaner, lengthened look. just my opinion.

Thanks, its a good suggestion. The good thing is that I believe the positioning will be adjustable so you can just glue it further down the forks if you would like (maybe I will move it down a bit too when I build it--kind of eyeball the best position). Anyhow, these renders are just a reference to get an idea of what it will look like. So please feel free to make the necessary modifications you see fit when the model is released (as I'm sure you will ). That's what will make it a true custom bike. :D

What scale are you aiming for? 1:6?

Would I be correct to assume that 1:6 is small enough to retain sanity?
