Porsche 917K Le Mans 1970

I got a bad cold for Christmas, so I sat down and started this wonderful kit. It was available for download at papersportscars.wz.cz, but it is no longer available.

I've never built prototype sportscars before, and I have to say, it was quite hard to tackle. Keeping the body shape symmetrical and assembling the headlights were the hardest challenges. But overall, it is an extremely nice kit to put together.

I also tried 120g paper for the first time, and I can't understand how the hell I managed to build an F1 car using 180g card...

I really enjoyed building this legendary car, and I learned a lot of amazing facts during the process. I also have the #20 Gulf-Porsche car in my storage, and I might be building that as well in the future.

Thank you!!

Again, my printer (Canon Pixma E569, CL-74 and PG-74 ink) got the colour totally wrong, so it is a dark orange-ish colour, instead of the Austrian red. For edge colouring, I found that light vermilion was the closest match.

Very nice, love Porsche, getting the curves correct is difficult but you got it right, I would like to build a model using 120gsm paper but do not know if it is available in SA
