Jumping on the Cybertruck Bandwagon

So many models, so many errors. Not that mine is perfect, but it at least has the vault, closer to the actual geometry, cybertruck treads on the tires, and cybertruck bumpers and lights

As I said, I still think the OH model is the best for capturing the texture, and if you just want to build one to say you have built one, it isn't bad. You definitely know what it is.

Now that I've got mine done, I can put this to bed. It won't bother me thinking I could do better and never giving it a shot.

On the OH model, I can go through my library of images and say, here's the image they used, so I used the same ones for the most part. I didn't capture the metallic sheen as well as they did, but it's good enough for me

I still hold to the idea that Musk was looking to add shock value to this. It looks so different than other trucks.

I also think that it is a blank slate. There are a lot of creative ideas being generated by it. I have seen quite a few complaints about not being able to reach over the sides and the reduced head room in the back seat. There are several ideas on electric vehicle sites with changes that could be made to the vehicle to make it more user friendly. I personally think that some of those ideas may be incorporated into the final design.

This isn't the final design, you know.

Musk sure is driving the thing around a lot in LA. I didn't think it was rated for being street legal. Maybe it falls into the custom car category as far as licensing

The 57 Chevy will be available to download, when the admin posts it for the December Hoard at OneMonk.com, onemonk.com , but it hasn't been posted yet.

The Cybertruck will be posted for the March Cyberpunk Hoard, but that won't be until April. If you want to snag it early, and view the build process, you can find it at Tesla Cybertruck | Cardboard Warriors forum. Take note, If you want to add the vault and side moldings, glue them on before you actually start gluing the body together, leaving the corner bumper strips to glue after the body is built

I pulled my models out of the available Cybertruck models thread and started a redesign thread, Tesla Cybertruck Redesigns | Cardboard Warriors forum

I've made mention a couple of times how simply skewing the roof peak towards the rear, keeping everything below the greenhouse shoulder the same, yields a much sleeker truck. I actually built it this morning

Maybe the Tesla folks will realize that a bit of a change yields a sleeker vehicle that maintains the same front seat head room, increases the rear seat head room, and maintains the lower bed dimensions. It certainly looks more like a vehicle that can go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds than the chunky version

Really nice work! As soon as I saw the truck I thought "paper model."
I briefly thought about making one but my life has no room right now for a new design

While it may offer more wind resistance, a windshield that is more upright/less raked
offers better self-cleaning in the rain and less interior heat,
and a smaller windscreen glass costs less/weighs less.
Its also a fact that as a windshield angles more, the wipers don't work as well.
They lift more at speed (remember those little wings that were attached to wiper arms?)
These things have been illustrated many times in many cars that have experimented with severely raked windshields.

And headroom comes into play when you are thrown forward, not just seated.

We opt for a balance between aerodynamics and functionality.

I like the design and look of the Cybertruck.
I'm just sick of the way it has been hyped (its not the first time someone has created a futuristic concept vehicle that will probably never see production)
and how many paper models there are! LOL

Frankly, I can't believe I wasted as much time on these as I have. The raked version was just a throw-together. But I'm done playing with these.

I personally think that putting the roof peak halfway between this version and the original would be a good compromise, but I'm not messing with it any more.

I never posted one other version I did. Someone requested a police version, so I did one with an Independence, Missouri livery
