1967 VW Beatle

The original model was designed by wongday. Model can be found here: https://wongday.blogspot.com/

It is his Herbie fully loaded model. I recolored it, and designed tires and rims for it.

I originally kept the rear brake lights silvery like the front turn signals, but changed to the recolored ones instead.

67 was the best of the pipe bumper models. Sealed beam head lights, 1493-cc, 12v, and bigger tail lights.

It's fenders and hoods don't fit on any other year. It stands alone. I have one and a 67 ghia. Best little daily drivers ever when I was on a shoestring budget.

Thanks for the walk down mem lane!

Thanks for the good comments. Made it for a friends Daughter. She wants a real purple VW Beatle. He asked me to make one out of paper for her.

With everything being so curvy on a Bug,
its one of the most difficult cars to design as a paper model!
I've wanted to add a Herbie to my Koolwheelz collection for years,
but its just not possible to do a one sheet simple model and capture the proper VW shape.

This looks like a tough build, but you did a great job.

I agree with Duke, best little commuter ever made.
Well, that a real Mini.

The 1967 Bug has always held a special place in my heart, because I too, was born in October of 1966!

I found a better VW Beetle but it is 32 pages, and I believe it about 24 inches long! Model here: VOLKSWAGEN | L
