1903 Ford

Several years ago I saw a reference to a 1903 Ford Model A paper model that was in 1/10 scale. I thought about getting it to use as help in doing a 1/25 model. I can't find any reference to it now, does anybody know about it or the availability of it? Thanks

I think you might mean the model published by Alcan - the Spanish company.
Unfortunately the company has been dead for a few years now. I have seen
the Ford Model A on eBay.

Don't remember the manufacturer, but don't think it was Alcan. I've seen some of their 1/24 scale stuff and they did some 2nd generation Model A 1928-1931, but never saw a listing for an 03. If I remember correctly there was a companion model of an early Benz in 1/10 that was also listed.

I did some checking - Alcan published a 1/6 1903 Ford Model A. They also published models of early Peugeots and a Benz in large scale.

Great, thanks, now that I know a bit better for what I'm looking, maybe it'll be easier to find. Especially since it was about 99 or 2000 when I saw the model ...and a early Peugeot also.

That would be a great model to have. Did you find out where to get it?

No haven't had any luck finding it yet. But then I don't really go to ebay much, just don't want to get started there.

Give Lou a call at PMI he has permission to reprint some of the older models and may be able to supply you with a copy.

I dug down into my I’ll never build this stack and found my copy of this model. It has 276 parts but not complex in fact it is rather simple a 2 or a 3 on a scale of 5 for difficulty. If you scaled it down to 1/25 it would more impressive model. Good coloring but not scale coloring it would build up to what I call a “Tin Plate” model, more like a toy then a scale model.
