Lego 6378 Shell Tank Service
Actually it is not as hard as it looks.
Think about rigging decent sailboat or making Churchill tank with all those wheels If every stud was to be made separately then for sure I would not even bother with the idea. I just made a tube and once the glue is dry i cut it into slices. As to the studs top I draw one circle at the begining of strip of paper, then bent it acordeon like, then hold it with long nose pliers and just cutting excess material. This way one time I got about 14 circles. And finally it's done. Also all paper Lego I've made so far with real example as a size reference. |

A masterpiece. Are you going to do any more, or have you had quite enough of Lego for now?

Lego 6378 Shell Tank Service
I am really glad You all like it.
Enough? Heck no Actually I already have quite a few sets selected for this treatment. Must have would be the Snorkel Pumper - 6690 from 1980 - another that I remembered from catalogues. Also railroad crossing, train station... Old Lego sets were so much cooler for me. But the ultimate paper Lego that I would like to make will be the Millenium Falcon. The UCS 10179 set released in 2007. And yes, the one that have about 5200 parts. Of course I wouldn't replicate all of them. Most likely cheat my way out by simplify the internal support structure and concentrate on the externals. I got the templates for the sets on the pictures so if someone would like to try it I could upload them. Be warned though that they are hand drawn and sans manual. |

Goodness me, this brings back memories. Actually I never owned the service station recreated here and really wanted the later 6472 gas station, but I had an Octan fuel tanker, a larger tow truck with US-style bull bars and stacks, and a 'raceway' set along with some other cars and vehicles. (In fact if you had any plans to do it I would love to see you make the tanker, it was 6594 with at the time unusual green bricks).
Anyway, fantastic job with lots of great detail. |

Lego 6378 Shell Tank Service
Thanks
When I do paper Lego it's usually sets that were remembered from my youth. Most of them known only from staring at the catalogues, but I did have many ideas of what to do with them if they were in my possesion... |
