Komatsu Bulldozer - Canon Papercraft

What to get for someone who has everything? Someone who has always wanted to operate heavy machinery! A paper model of a bulldozer - of course.

I am new to paper models and have completed very few builds. I needed a break from my current build - Inwald's Spitfire Mk. Va. I have a retired friend that always wanted to operate heavy machinery. I found the heavy equipment set of Komatsu machine models at Canon Papercraft and thought it would be fun to build. I was also running out of time and ideas for a gift.

Model: Komatsu D155AX-6 Bulldozer (Canon PaperCraft)
Scale: 1/43
Paper: Cardstock white 110 lb (190 g/m2)
Printer: Laser printer at my work - free printing

The model is an easy build, straightforward parts lay-out with very good instructions. It has a large amount of detail for a beginner model. This build was completed in three evenings. It turned out well enough for a gift. I was pleased with the result.

This is my first build post. I have learned a lot from following this forum and am amazed at the quality of work presented. This model build represents the work of someone just learning about paper models. I have a few projects on the go and the more I practice the more I learn.

That a good-looking model, Skyhawk. I think you've learnt quite a bit already.

Thank you Philip for your words of encouragement. Paper models are not very popular in my region of Canada. I wish I had found this hobby earlier. I am in catch up mode!

I know with laser printing the edging is problematic. I used markers and pencil crayons to fill in the gaps. It turned out well enough for a gift. I may remake the model using photo paper instead of heavy cardstock. I am enjoying trying different paper thicknesses and seeing what the results are. Thanks for the feedback.

Very clean build.
If you are to build it again, what about some weathering so as it doesn't look too 'factory fresh' ?
