The buggy
The main part is almost done. I have to do the wheel jig and then get started on that. Working on the buggy canopy also.
In the meantime here is the buggy puller. He will also have a harness made up as well. |

The buggy
The making of the seats. First I cut a piece of felt for the floor rug. The seats were done by using foam and covering it with fabric. The fabric is from an old spandex shirt. This material is good since it has a very little to no fraying of the edges when sewing. I used a fabric, upholstery thread and made the dimples in the seat. and her we have the results.
Working on the wheels now. |

Always beautiful work - is there anything you can't do? We could really use a cold-fusion power source when you finish this build.
Yogi (very impressed yet suspecting you're using some kind of "Fantastic Voyage" miniaturizing technology) |

Figure are the darnest models to make, I admire Tirik with his simple methods for figures, I build the subject and then I get stuck on the hands, I have problems with the fingers. |

The buggy
Now to get back to some updates on the buggy. Had a short hiatus and now to catch up on some backlogs.
The following pics are on the building of the wheel jig. This jig will allow you to place the spokes more accurately. The bands for the rims is 120lb weight paper (US). laminated three times with a fourth band to help retain the spokes from the outside. The last fifth band is for the metal band around the wheel. That last band will be installed after the wheel is painted. The center hub is a strip of paper rolled to the size of the center hub in the jig . a spoke retainer ring/washer is placed down and when all of the spokes are in place, another retainer/washer ring is place to sandwich the spokes in place. The spokes are from wooden toothpicks and the sharp end is placed through a hole drilled into the band. Those holes are drilled while on the jig and done from the outside in. The sharp point of the toothpicks are cut off from the outside before placing the fourth retainer band on. |

The buggy
Continuing with the wheels and trimmings.
Test fitted the wheels on the body and chassis. Gave the wheels an initial coat of flat black. If it did not have the gold trim, I would have made the wheels either red or yellow. Because of the trimmings I made the wheels black for the contrast. Place the fifth band colored iron/gun metal around the outside of the rim. Made some round washers from the gold plated paper and made retainer bands for the wheel hubs. Place the wheels on the buggy. Almost done with the buggy, the canvas top is next followed by the harness hitch and then the harness for the horse. |
