Here are the pictures I promised!!
First the back-wheel-belt-sprocket, or whatever its name... I think this little part is a brake pump or brake pad. Then the rear frame parts ready to be assembled. You will notice that they have no glue tabs, I put them after I cut the parts, this way I can get an evenly union between the pieces. For these parts I tried to do a trick, and it was to print the lines as fine as possible, I managed to make them soo thin that I could barely see them, so I had a hard time when cutting them You can see some misplaced cuts in this picture. Ok that is for today, hope to have something more tomorrow. Last edited by motorcyclemodeler; 09-08-2010 at 08:18 AM. |

Well, it seems that the 'tomorrow' I mentioned in my last post never came.
After several month of not posting anything here, I finally will post my advances. I managed to finish all the bits to assemble the frame. Started with the bottom part. Then I joined front and seat part The seat part was the most dificult since I didn't leave glue tabs and had to add them as I was assembling it. That is all for today. I have almost all the bits for the rear wheel assembly, including rear arm and battery holder. Will try to post and build more often. Thanks in advance for your comments. |

Glad to see you're back, Edgardo. I was holding my breath since your last post. Now I can breathe again . I was a little concerned that we may not be able to see the final product. Looks like you're still making good progress. Looking forward to more...

Hello again!
I'm a slow builder, and to make things worst, something happened that slowed me even more, here is a picture of what.... I had the smart idea of cutting the glue tabs, and add them later, BUT, I never though making those external glue tabs was going to be hard.. This caused me to build a really really bad tire, so I had to do it again, this time in a different printer, with a little less color, but i think it will look fine on the bike Here are the steps for the second tire, this time with the glue tabs as LougDog intended: Here is a comparison of both tires. Those are my advances up to this day. Best regards. Edgardo |

Great to see you persevering with this. The original model is great, and your modified version is going to be something special. Yes, that first front tyre was a bit of a dog, but you have recovered well on the second attempt. We all have disasters from time to time, but not all of us are brave enough to confess them! Keep up the good work. Alan |

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement and messages.
Here are the latest advances: I finished the telescope tubes of the front fork (very easy to make) Also finished are the handlebars. Hard to make since at this scale there are tiny bits to fold and glue, like the ribbets/nuts/whatever things that go on every side of the handles. Until next time!! |
