1982 Ford Escort?

Hey, ya'll-

I tried some quick searching, but no luck so far.

Does anyone know if there is a model of the 1982 Ford Escort available anywhere (or a 1982 RS2000, which apparently was the rally version of this car)?

I have a re-coloring project in mind if I can find this...

Thanks.

Glenn

oh the mark III not seen one of that ever don't paint it bright green like a friend of mine done with his real classic Mark 1 otherwise known as stop me Garda (police) green. I don't think he got more than four miles anytime without some Garda stopping him and checking his tax and insurance

Definitely not the Cosworth, something more like this:

...And I may be off on the year, apparently the Matchbox model came out in '78.

I learnt to drive in my mums Mark III 4-door 1.6, they were quite angular and "light" looking and front-wheel drive. For some reason the two door estate was always the coolest looking one.

A Mark III XR3 or even XR3i was quite something to desire in those days. The R2000 version would be "some motor" as they say. I did drive an XR3 for a bit; it was a lot of fun but prone to rust and not the sort of thing a 20 year-old should be let anywhere near!

Good luck with your search sgoti.

OK, That's a 2nd gen Escort (1975-1980).

If you want an older 1st generation (1968-1974), there's a simple model at Minimodel.cz (Ford Escort Mk I Rally). There's also a 4th gen (Mark V for the brits, an Escort RS Cosworth) and some Focus WRC (1st gen).

Well... No wonder I couldn't find what I was looking for! :o

Thanks for clearing things up, cafe!

That Matchbox car was my favorite when I was a kid, thought it might be fun to find a paper model and repaint it to match.
