VW Samba bus Model by Wilhelmshaven

while i'm looking for pipes and tubes for Mike Bauer's SR-71 A3 format model

i found this nice model of a wilhelmshaven VW Samba bus Model while following the link to escala's blog of the build of his model Buzz Lightyear
i noticed that one of the guys commenting had a pic of a VW bus , which i had a look a which led me to this

VW Samba Bus paper model Möwe Verlag KdF-Wagen

there is also a pickup model of this type of VW which looks pretty cool
not as advanced as the Samba but still

so i will do this one while looking for he above, and it will go on backburner when i found what i'm looking for to the SR-71

Framework

i still need to practice formers :(
despite being under pressure during drying they still warped
have not found any good spray glue yet, the only thing i've foud/bought smells like h*ll and i'd rather not use it indoors as the odour might trig my migrane which i don't want

I'm really interested in seeing this built. The kit looks to be well done.

I've had this one for a while, but haven't attempted to build it yet. It's nice to see how it goes together.

well i goofed a bit...
most probably because i don't really know how to get the formers not to warp
they warped even though they were drying under pressure for a day
as you can see on one side i have a gap and not on the other side
can anybody advise me how to fix it
realized i will have to finish this one before i get the space i need to do Mike Bauer's SR-71 in A3 - space getting tight with unfinished models, even after i threw some of the worst ones away

Hello 2Kamser,

if you have to double formers please never use waterbased glue! And take care for the grain of the cardboard. The good old UHU Flinke Flasche is well recommended. Sorry, your formers are a little bit in a waved constitution. Correct fitting with other parts could be a little adventure?!
I wish you all the best for your progress on this very nice old Wilhelmshavener ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

danke Willi
maybe it's best to start over with it to get it correct...
will try tonight and see if i can't fix it, otherwise that goes into the bin (or to my son)
new parts printed out BUT then Mike Bauer's SR-71 in A3 will get full attention
and this will have to wait as no space to do both at the same time

couldn't save it, seems like the sideparts and the center piece are not 100% alike the sideparts, if it is my fault (most likely) or the formers we'll see later
now then Mike Bauer's model get the full attention
