I used to have a 1972 Ford Car.
My friends always gave me a hard time about it. They said Ford stood for,,, Fixed or Repaired Daily. Or they would say,,, F***ed over Rebuilt Dodge. But I liked it anyway. |

My wife has great memories of both her Taurus cars. One was a black 80 something model that would periodically die one her. She would have to get out crawl under it and bang the gas tank with a hammer to restart it. So that was a "Found on Roadside Dead" car but she loved the way it looked and drove.
Together we owned a red 2001 right up until it's demise in an extremely scary high-speed crash on I-75 in 2014. Essie walked away from that wreck so the car died a hero. But it was definitely a "Fix or Repair Daily" car. I learned a lot about removing the dash on it to replace dash illumination lights, heater blower fans and other stuff. Today we own a Toyota Tacoma and an Avalon so no more roadside or shade tree repairs for me or her! Curt |

F,O.R.D. Hmmm!
I am a " Former Ford Owner " ! Not By choice . Vans for disabled are costly and although I feel I don't need it ( walk fine , I Just fall down once in a while getting out of cars ) ( Don't do this in front of your doctor ! )
The Ford I wanted was way to expensive , even for my insurance to help . Now The Kia Dealer had this Neat- SEDONA L.X. in stock . With modified front door and seat swivel-lift ! The original buyer bought it new , didn't take delivery , Deceased - Heart problems . Latter part of 2003 it was mine . It was almost half of the Ford's cost . Done Deal ! Have had it for ten years now . It rarely breaks , and so far it's minor stuff ! I still miss my fully loaded " Baby Lincolns " ( Mercury Gran Marquis Brougham L.X.) I still spell " Car or truck " Ford ! Always have , always will . Paper Ford oops ! Papersurprise50 |

A few years ago they had an advertising campaign here that had a jingle "Have you driven a Ford?" lately.
This was mutated by everyone to "Have you seen a Ford lately?". And funnily enough at the time they seem to have disappeared off the roads! Ford here dropped the campaign after a short while. ------------------------------------------ For those of you with Fords.....how do you double the value of your Ford? Fill the tank with petrol. What do you call a Ford at the top of a hill? A miracle An then there was that classic bumper sticker, which I still think is THE best!

For a brief period Ford took over Jaguar and Land Rover from the dying British Leyland, and for some reason they thought it was a good idea to move them both into one Liverpool factory at Halewood.
From this dubious union came the Freelander (A monocoque Land Rover?? ) and the Jaguar X type ( a re-skinned Mondeo ). Now don't get me wrong here ... I drove quite a few Mondeos as a taxi driver, and they are pretty good for the job, but a Jaguar they ain't. I'm still wondering why Ford missed the opportunity to call their XJ8 an F Type. Next Jaguar/Land Rover were passed on to Tata ... an Indian company ... and we have the anachronism they called "Evoque". How they have got the cheek to put Range Rover badges on that Pimp-mobile I don't know. My old '86 RR Classic absolutely ROARS it's old V8 at them as we waft past them.
