This article has a summary of the case against the F-35 - http://nsnetwork.org/cms/assets/uplo...F-35_FINAL.pdf.
Seems to be well argued and pretty scary if you're a pilot scheduled for F-35 conversion training. The comments about the capabilities of long range IR detection should make even the most fanatical of stealth proponents stop and think. Regards, Charlie |

Still reference initial source regarding 4.95G - none. So reference to reference without reference? 14 See: “Test Pilot Admist the F-35 Can’t Dogfight.” War is Boring. Last modified June 29, 2015. Available at: https://medium.com/war-is-boring/tes...ht-cdb9d11a875 Lets read the article: “The F-35 was at a distinct energy disadvantage,” the unnamed pilot wrote in a scathing five-page brief that War Is Boring has obtained. The brief is unclassified but is labeled “for official use only.” Does it sound seriously? And that's only a few samples. As a result a report based on mainly on a bloggers opinions?

An article I read last month in a credible military aviation magazine said about the same G rating for a sustained turn. Of course, they plan to improve it as the engine restrictions are lifted further still. But, it will still be at a great energy disadvantage compared to not only its contemporaries in other countries, but to the planes it is designed to replace!

Let's just equip every branch of the military with fokker dr.1's then! I'd rather have it as my fast fighter jet than something worse!

Slightly more serious is the proposed comparison testing of the F-35 vs A-10 Warthog in the close air support role (CAS). Should be interesting.
To Prove Its CAS Capabilities, F-35 To Face Off Against A-10 Regards, Charlie |

Lockheed officials have separately downplayed reports that the same F-35, flown by the same pilot, previously lost mock dogfights with the Goodyear Blimp and a beagle on a flying doghouse. |

Aaaaaand the 'next phase' of the F-35 has been mentioned!
Pentagon requests 500 gold plated F-35s Now finally, that is the first good idea I've heard about improving that chubby underachieving flying lemon (-; |
