No, I doubt that this is unique to paper modeling -- I suspect it's that way for models in all other media, too. For that matter, I'll often start a new book before finishing any that are in progress now. The world is so full of interesting things that it's hard for intelligent people to put their curiosity on hold until the current project's finished. We still need some self-discipline to finish any models, but we shouldn't feel guilty about being human.
