That quote is incorrect.
The correct outcome is "paper covers rock".
Nothing is said about paper "beating" rock.

But who says paper can't hurt rock?

We all know what Tree roots can do
...they heave your driveway and shift your House foundations.
They can even move boulders and literally split bedrock.

Maybe, since Paper comes from Trees, the power of paper over Rock is a little clearer?
