Might be worth looking at the ones available at:

Ecardmodels.com

At least you can reprint any parts you need to.

Oh my....that sounds serious. Is it only the P47 and P-38? Maybe you were frightened by those as a child.... Maybe you could try a P-51 to ease your way into building. I suspect gremlins are involved. Maybe you are too young to remember the gremlins that haunted some WWII airplanes - buuuttt, they are still around! They mess up glue joints and stuff on paper models these days! And scare builders into avoiding really neat models. Keep us posted.....

YOU GOTTA JUMP IN DUDE!!!!
and then be prepared to make 2 or 3 more to correct flaws that drive you crazy on each build. eventually you will go mad.

I get the joke, but if you wish to try a P47 model, I'll give you one.
Sorry, I don't have a Lightning.

Go to papermodelshop.com.
Look through the P47s.
2nd gen kits have cockpits and wheelwells, but aren't really any harder to build.
In fact, you don't have to install the extra details.

Pick the P47 you like and I will give it to you (for free) to try.
I prefer you choose one that doesn't already show a photo of a finished model,
but its up to you.
But you must promise to give it a try...build it now
...and if you post a build thread here or on my own forum, I can help you through the build.

or, just keep singing.
