Congressional Budget Tightening

Just got these from my eldest son who, at the age of 40, went back into the army. Who will be the first to model these new secret weapons?

Interesting concepts, with very complex shaping. Weapon systems 2 and 3 seem to operate on biological low tech fuels, i.g. carrots, potatoes and pork chops. How the heat engines work is highly secret, but I fear environmentalists will object with pinched nose to the exhaust products.
Anyway, designing paper models which would do justice to them will be very difficult. For economic reasons, the three of them should of course be bought in a package...

I have a bicycle trailer (bykaboose) but never thought of putting a machine gun in it (be very afraid...) luckily though (for society) mine holds only 90lbs.

Well, they finally accepted the Osprey...

Though I like the hands-on aspects of the first one over the current trend toward automation, I have to confess that I think the last has the better chance of appropriations, given the production-facility 'pork' potential.

The second makes me homesick...

Memories! People with access to automatic weapons and time on their hands (well not really, but you have to lighten a long tough day some how). Love it.

Suicide bombers are so retro; it's an old idea whose time has come and gone. But, strapping an armed man to an A-10; that's an idea whose time has come. This is the culmination of the man/plane interface concpet. Finally, we truly have intelligent targeting capability.

Ok, well, I suppose I have to give you a point on that one.

With that in mind, did you know that for the filming of the movie "The Flight of the Phoenix," (original one), they actually gave some thought to strapping stunt doubles on the wing of the airplane, but decided, "Nahhh, what if something happens?"

If I recall correctly, the Swiss bicycle cavalry was disbanded just a few years ago. And for real, I saw an illustration of a late 19th century proposal for a bicycle with a gun mount. The North Vietnamese also used bicycles to substantial effect, but mostly in logistics.

I think the guy strapped to the A-10 could probably drop a couple of bombs too, if you know what I mean. That would probably be unavoidable on my part.
