Backup Bust-Up

Years ago, I worked for a company that built turn-key computer systems for veterinary clinics. This was back in the day when back-ups were done on floppy disks.

A clinic called one day and said their computer had crashed and they tried restoring the data up but their backup disks wouldn't work. Among the questions we asked was, "Where do you store your backup disks?" Their answer: "We keep them in a safe, cool, dry place, on a shelf above the X-ray machine."

Of course, an X-ray machine is the biggest electromagnet most of us will ever see. Those floppies were squeaky clean.

Recently I saw a news story on vegan wine.
Never expected to find animal parts in wine.
