not quite that funny

As many of you will know, I'm building one of the bigger Czech Towns. The last page of parts made me think of a few puns The first one was - I'd reached a dead end. Then I thought I'd made a grave mistake.

I then decided that rather than add this to the thread for the build it would be better to add it here - mainly because I guess a lot of you would be dying to add some of your own puns.

We had lived opposite a big cemetery for about 45 years before we moved out of London, so I wonder if someone (or more) could come up with new comments - The dead centre of town is the most common....;-)

The completed part of the buildings and cemetery will be in the Architecture thread soon.

Cheers
Mike

Whenever we would pass a cemetery when I was a child, my father would ask, "How many do you think are dead in there?"

The answer was, "All of them."

Seeing all those paper grave markers reminds me of that fateful day about 30years ago when a 4 seater propeller plane from the local aviation club crashed in our cemetery. There were no survivors. Over the course of the following three days police and voluntary firefighters recovered 134 bodies from the crash site making this accident one of the worst in the history of sports aviation. It still gives me the shivers.

Hi;

True story. Very many years ago, I spent a summer working for a cemetery department. We had been digging a grave for most of the morning, then broke for lunch before putting the coffin liner in place. We approached the hole after lunch. At the bottom of the hole Joe looked up. Jenny turned and looked up as well. Not a word was spoken. We picked up our shovels. They picked up their impedimenta and departed. Kind of put some fun into grave circumstances.

Regards, rjccjr

So why are we writing in English? Why not in some dead language in the graveyard shift? But old habits never die. By the way, what are you building? A ghost town?
We are modelers from the cradle to the grave.
It was all gallows humour. Am I dead right?
:-DDDDD
