1/48 Scale Rhorbach Roland I

The revolutionary and fantastic looking Rhorbach Roland tri-motor is a design we had nearly completed in 1/72 scale before opting for 1/48.

I attach an image of a prototype model in 1/72. It will be an interesting, hopefully not too interesting, to see how the engineering is changed by the larger scale.

I applaud your decision to move up to 1:48 scale. The aircraft you have released to date are most impressive.

For a large number of the early 1920's and '30's subjects we design, there are no accurate plans, so drawings have to be created from photographs.

The open cabin version, the Roland I, is the subject of our first Rhorbach design and our intention is to eventually create the later marks of this distinctive aircraft type as well.

Some remarkably graceful airplanes made their appearance in the 1920s, as well as some charmingly awkward ones.

Will have the Junkers A20 in 1/48 up this month so keep an eye out for that..It is a elegant, lovely build. After that expect the Farman 190. We have finished the final versions of these and can promise you will not be disappointed. The Albatros L.58 soone after and then we will be back at the Rhorbach I think. The design of accurate model aircraft, which is time consuming always has to be put to one side in the business of making a living. I can add the the Dorner Komet that also was operated will be available.
