Book has arrived from a second hand shop in Australia - cost was about $20 plus shipping. It is simply gorgeous - filled with beutiful artwork by the authros that render the airports and planes of the era in a stylized Art Deco sort of way. Just paging through it is a delight, the contemporary photos are a pleasure, and the bits and notes about the aircraft deeply satisfying. True, there are almost now architectural plans, but then that is really not the point. There are lots of closeups of architectural details, most now long gone, that make the 20's live again. Thanks to Terry and Rosie for this work of art!

Well found Rob. Enjoy.
Here in Africa many of the older Art Deco styled buildings were still around - in the smaller airports up-country. Over time a lot has fallen into disrepair as the airports ceased to function or have been modernised (but only over the last 20 odd years). In remoter troubled areas I am sure they still exist. Unfortunately, in most places, it was forbidden to photograph airport structures or building, so few records probably exist. There are quite a few interesting books also on modern airport architecture - I will dig them up and post the details.
