Well, as for the fiddly bits, most are going to be simple, if a bit small. I will layer what I can and print the details I can.

I added the port holes as per the drawing I have. On the blockade runner they may have been darkened but on the Clyde they surly would have been made bright. I have never seen a piece of brass on an old navy ship that wasn't polished.

I wanted to post something earlier, but a thunderstorm killed my internet connection for a week ;-)
Corey, this one looks good! There is something in the blockade runners. I've just received some great papers about them including one M.A. thesis. I will check if there is anything about the Neptune and let you know.
Knife, I haven't forgotten about the Arkansas, but don't worry, I can wait.

I changed the color to almost a white as in the photograph. I also added to planking and sort of lattice work on the outer guard of the sponsons.Lots and lots of deck clutter! Many small details. I hope it is fun to build.

The Clyde is coming along but it's a big job. This is the most complicated model I have dome so far concerning the details. It builds just like the others but with a lot of details. Vents, windless, deck housing, dead eyes for rigging, everything. Some may be avoided for a simplified model but you will have options to trick it out well. I hope it builds well.

Help. Can some one try to make one of these guns for clyde (or any other ship that used them)? They are small, and may need to be done in part of whole on printer paper. I want to know if they are workable at scale oor if I need to simplify and out scale a part or two.

OK, with the little guns as build-a-ble but difficult, I will also include a much simplified gun model in with this kit as well. This model moves ahead! It will be ready for test building soon. I would say later today but it is my fist day of chemo for a new session so I never know quite how I will be feeling. If I am up to it I will have four hours to do nothing but sit and work on the lap top! Anyhow, the model will be done soon!

Hi Corey, I was just going to post and ask how you were as haven't seen an update for a while, which is most unusual!

Glad to see the ships are still going well. Just a quick question, are you likely to have any models released in then next week?

I would like to say yes on that but my test builders have run into real life issues that have slowed down builds. I have the CSS Selma Gunboat, the Oven Bluff Gunboat, and the CSS George Page in test build now with the USS Clyde and USS Thomas Freeborn about ready for a test build. Also, I have the Fiat 2000 tank being test built now and the Vickers six ton tank just about ready for test build as well. A couple of these models are destin for the free downloads here as is my habit, the others will be going tp ecards. But I just do not know when. And the USS Cimarron is close behind these as well, as many of the parts were stolen from the Clyde!

I have added a hull and more details on this boat for a 1/50 scale version as well as the 1/250 waterline. It is taking a lot more work then originally thought, but it is coming along good.
