I found plans online for this ship at Loyalhanna/taubman online in 1/36 scale! 35 bucks but worth it!

Which kit from Magnus Mork did you use? There is that other free download mentioned earlier in the thread from a Japanese designer that looks fairly good as well.

Cheers!

CSS Stonewall

Jim,

It was with a whole load of kits I downloaded a couple of years ago from Mork's website. So far I've used the blockade runner and Adzuma ( Stonewall)

I'm moving house shortly so will that will probably be the last model for a while !

John.

By the way that link from OhioMike shows the original basic kit from Mork.

If you download it, check the scale carefully against a plan if you can, I had to adjust mine, then cut it down to load waterline. Also I added a lot of detail - raised hatches and skylights, vent cowls, the light bridge aft of the stack, canvas covered railings, and oars and rudders to the boats. I changed the boats in the kit to some of Corey's resized too and recoloured the stack black. My printer decided to change the hull colour from dark grey to a greyish brown, so I decided to go with it. It's quite convincing if you imagine the ship to have been at sea for a long time. I depicted her under sail rather than steam. Sails, much modified came from a salvaged Cutty Sark kit donkeys years old.

Altogether a lot of work, but I reckon it's worth it.

Absolutely, worth it!

You did an excellent job on this, and I like that you made it into a waterline model from the full hull original. Thanks for sharing photos if this with all of us.

Good luck with the move!

Cheers!
Jim
