IPMC 2011 Challenge

As many of you know, I challenged Kevin Stephens to a head to head build. The subject matter was GPM's Sherman. Due to life issues, Kevin was not able to finish his and I was the lone contestant left in the challenge.

The IPMC awards committee surprised me with a Halinski P39N model as a means to "slow" me down so Kevin could catch-up.

As I was thinking about this, I have decided to challenge anyone intending to attend next years convention to a new build challenge with the P39N.

Anyone attending next years convention can enter their very own Halinski P39N in completed form and the winner will be determined by popular vote. The winner will then be tasked with picking the subject for next years challenge.

For anyone who is intending on attending and participating in this challenge please state your intentions in this thread. If you are serious about participating and cannot find or cannot afford the kit, please PM me as I have an extra copy. I will monitor PM requests for 1 month and pick a recipient at random.

Great Idea Greg!

Unfortunatly I have to pass this time around .. I'll have enough problems trying to get the 'ol Sherman finished up for next years show. Becides I do want to get to that Dragon Wagon at some point.

This does sound like a great challenge for anyone brave enough to take you on.

You know, I don't think my chances are that good...but I love the subject matter. So providing I can find the kit, I'll jump in...I had made plans to come this year (along with RonC) but we both couldn't make it...so plans are already beginning for next year!

Where could one find this kit? I know papermodelstore doesn't have it, I just checked...:(

Thanks for the site guys...their shipping is better than some of the others, that is for sure. I noticed some accessories as well...are those allowed for the contest...canopy, wheels, laser cut formers? (I didn't happen to see these for the p39)

I'd like to request the canopy be allowed...but it is just a request, and can be denied or confirmed...can't hurt to ask...:D

I'm using a vac-canopy so have at it with accessories! The primary goal is to encourage the finishing of the model, the secondary goal is the contest part.

Besides, if you spend any time around IPMS (plastic) contests, craftmanship always counts more than the number of aftermarket accessories/details.:D
