No....... new one for me, gotta check it out.

Murph's right give an external adapter a go..........if the table is still readable you might be able to get something off it.......

Also.......... FLASH DRIVES....... USB thumb drives, whatever you want to call it, get some and back up your files to them when you finish with InkScape........... or do like me and cobble together from old parts a server and back up your files to it........ 1.88 TB of storage and I shouldn't loose anything else....... unless it's what I'm working on when the systems crashes......

No....I haven't even backed up my whole folder.....
But if I can do it at this stage I could give it a try.

So my big mistake is the fact that I did not back up anything. I feel ashamed of myself....I never knew this would happen since our PC is only a year old.....

If you get an adapter (cost me about $20 from an electonics store) you can plug the dead hard drive into your computer, and if it in any way works, you should be able to find your files there. It's how I always recover my models when I have to replace a laptop (3 in 2015 alone).

Okay, I'll try. Thanks for the information.

I backup weekly to an extrernal drive (I only connect to do the back up). I've learned the hard way.

I use dropbox to sync all my important stuff to the cloud. There are any number of online services that support this.
