Aircraft Diorama Accessories Kit III "Modern"

Aircraft Diorama Accessories Kit III "Modern"
including Aircraft Carrier Equipment.

I think I am about 3/4 of the way through this Kit already.

To recap, this will be the third Accessories Kit
and this will cover "Modern" era equipment...
I would guess present day stuff, maybe stuff that dates back no more than a decade or two?
And I will include all the Aircraft carrier equipment in this Kit.

Heres where I stand...heres the models completed and test built so far:

a common Towed Start Cart "Huffer"

and an AGM Maverick Missile, in its Transport case which doubles as a service Dolly

actually the Maverick comes in two styles, the white version and a Green painted version (different Guidance systems I believe?)

Sectional Jet Blast fencing

two different types of Hydraulic Jack Stands

a towed Electrical Cooling Unit

and a towed GPU (Ground Power Unit)

All models, just like the previous Kits, will be roughly 1/50 scale

but most have enough detail to allow excellent upscaling to 1/32
and many models will do a ver acceptable upscale to 1/24 or even 1/18 scale!

I'm probably going to include the Boarding Ladders from the second kit,
especially the Aluminum Boarding Ladder that will fit many modern era Fighter aircraft.

and I've got some modern style Molded Wheel Chocks.

There are a couple more projects in my design folder to include with this kit,
but as always, I am open to suggestions for addtional accessories.

Keep in mind this time, "Modern" era equipment,
maybe no more than about 20 years old?

I am looking forward to completing this kit fairly quickly
so keep watching!

As I menioned in the previous thred - I suggest JDAMs on MHU-110 trailer...
Actually tou can use the trailer with almost any weapon.
Also, how about a GBU-28?

The trailer is an obvious choice.
In fact I do have some reference for a Carrier trailer with Missiles/Bombs.

Not being an expert on munitions, I'm not sure what all these types are...

GBU-28? is that a lightweight JDAM?

I've got reference for GBU31 JDAM which is a 2000lb
and they are on a Trailer with four wheels that holds two units.

But the GBU38 JDAM is a 5000lb and the trailer is much heavier, with 10 wheels.
This must be an MHU-110 Trailer (15,000lb capacity)

Not sure yet if I want to build such a large Trailer...

............................

oh I see, the GBU-28 is a 5000lb Bunker Buster
but its also a different shape to the JDAMs
and isn't going to fit on the same Trailer.
At least not with the same supports and holddowns.

okay, I'm confused now...
I've got another site showing me GBU-38 as a 500lb smaller JDAM
being hauled around on much smaller trailers.

On Carriers they are moved three at a time, by one man, on a small hand pull trailer.

Apparently the GBU-31 is the largest at 2000lbs.

Too many photos, and too many different captions on them all!
Too much information and you can't trust any of it!
Thats the problem with the Internet!!

Yes, the gbu-28 is very large. While crewing the F-111F at RAF Lakenheath, we utilized them in training after Desert Storm. Only two were dropped there, but they look impressive on an airplane!

Seems like I always had a light cart pull up as soon as I was chocked. Most maintenance is done at night when the pilots are resting. Your GPU could be easily modified. Just needs an aluminium pole sticking out of the top with some lighting units on top of the pole.
