Dave's HAL 9000 Compuer Interface

I guaranty all the serious modellers here... save little plastic bits!

I'm talking about every time something goes into the trash,
you can't help staring at it and saying to yourself "hmm I wonder
what I could make out of that?"...or "hey, that would make a good canopy!"

I do the same thing...got a massive drawer full of clear plastic pieces, boxes, bubbles, shapes...

anyway...I have been staring at this clear dome thing on my desk...been sitting there for months now!...and I finally used it!
I had this idea months back, but just never got around to it.

I wanted to design a new HAL 9000 Interface
and the bubble would be my starting point!

Working from some movie stills, this is what I came up with (my design is on the right).



yes, I know there are already a couple fo models out there.
I have built them.
They're okay, but I wasn't really happy with them.
I wanted something new...something a little more 3D (layers)
and something to fit my "bubble".

and the final result...



My next computer build will have one of these on the front of the case
and I will find a way to illuminate it!
