I just heard about this, so I needed to stop by and make a comment.
Your support is extremely appreciated. But please... don't make any donations, I will just refund them. If you like my free models, you are always welcome to make a donation in that respect, I always accept! But this is not your problem and you guys should not be responsible to fix it!! I appreciate the support, but thats good enough! The info I need is lost. My collection of Videos, TV shows, interesting images, fun files, etc and even my collection of card Models...can be replaced in time. My personal files, photos of my kid, etc...are lost and that saddens me. I have recovered a few image files...it will take me weeks to go through them to see what I got. But a lot has gone. The Model files I needed to recover just don't seem to be there (like my current PT Boat project) Worst thing is the files associated with all the websites I build and currently maintain. Its possible I can recover most of the individual image files that go on all the web pages, but that doesn't rebuild the sites...they will have to be rebuilt from scratch. And thats months of work I can't handle right now. I have recovered lost data before, if you know anything about, you will know that what you get is mixed up, parted files, renamed, sorted into new groups. many files are corrupted and unrepairable. Many files get lost. I am, as of this moment, running a second Data Recovery program on the drive, but I don't anticipate any further major recoveries. A day has passed, I have already run one program on the drive and some files have been moved through that drive. So the chances of any more recovery is probably gone. As I told Ray, my stress levels are at a maximum. I am being very careful not to tax my blood pressure any more. I am tired and worn out...feeling sick to be honest. And I'm almost ready to call it a night. This was a stupid mistake that didn't need to happen. I was more focused on removing an eyesore, than paying attention to what I was really doing...and now I am paying for it. So thanks again for the support. I can't say much else at this time. Dave

AirDave, my wife who use to do this kind of recovery said that it depends on the kind of reformat you did. IF you didn't do a "Wipe Disk", that you can recover ~ 90-95% of your data if you take it to a pro company that has the correct hardware/software to do the recovery.
It will cost some $$ to do this but as long as you don't start writing to the disk you'll get most of your stuff back.......... Keep us informed, Swampfox |

GetDataBack has been used in some shape or form since 2003 (maybe even earlier). This link is to the newest version. it is highly recommended on the electronics forum I haunt. Free to try.
