I'm not an expert on PT Boats, but I think the Elco just evolved in superstructure and weaponry.
If that is the case, I could definitely consider some later model versions.

Basically designing some new new Deck Guns, Torpedoes, a different Mast, etc
And that camo is tempting!

But I have to be honest...once I finish the current work (with PT Boats) I will be taking a break.
A break from PT Boats that is.
This has been an interesting experience...and somewhat succesful for me.
So I am pleased with that.
Quitting while I am ahead may be the right thing to do...for now...lol

If I continue working on PT Boats, the next PT Boat I do,
if I can muster up the desire, will be the "disruptive camouflage" version.

okay, all these stripes are freakin' me out!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

what a nightmare! LOL

I knew this was gonna be tough, but I didn't imagine the eyestrain
and headaches this was gonna cause.
When I close my eyes, all I see are blue and yellow stripes!

Maybe, if I do one page a day....or less...lol

Owies, that does look painfull... And those dazzle paint schemes are still used by car manufacturers today. BMW is using them a LOT.

Effective when used, I don't know. But definitively unique (here PT-174).

Certainly throws a monkey wrench into all those recognition drills with the silhouettes. Not that I don't trust you, but I had to look at that pic for a while to actually get my brain to register it as a PT boat

I have already bought the green PT Boat and I'm sure that I'll buy the dazzle scheme one.

This Zebra stripe disruptive camo has been tried on everything...Boats, Planes, etc
I've seen stuff in WW1 up to WW2...
not sure of anything after that, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Not sure why they keep trying it, because it apprently is dropped after every test. lol
If you ask me, I think it would be terrible for the crew.

If the paint scheme was just on the outer Hull, it wouldn't be so bad, but to paint
everything on the deck like this?
It would be very confusing just trying to navigate your way aorund the structures!

Can you imagine doing months at sea on this boat? haha

I have found three or four different PT Boats with a similar form of the Zebra stripe Disruptive paint scheme.
I have also found a couple of scale plastic kits painted in the same fashion.

No two seem to be alike...maybe each was a handpainted experiment?
And I can't find multiple angles of the same Paint scheme.

So...just to clarify, I am not claiming historical accuracy with this rendition.
I picked one of the designs I have seen and used it,
and I am using my best guess on everything I can't see in the photo.

I wonder if I should give the crew stripes?
