Are you doing the short wheel base or the long wheel base?

Well, I'm no expert, but the S1 Group B car
run in '84 was based on a shortened Quattro.

I'm not aware that the second gen of the Quattro Sport was any longer,
since Audi did produce and sell a limited number of
factory Quattro Sports in '86...these were shortened Quattros.

My GT Coupe (1985) was 5" longer than the S1
as were the first Quattro Rally cars.

I wonder...if the S1 sent over for the Pike's Peak runs was a longer
wheelbase version?

To be honest, I am using photos of the original S1 and the new Prospeed reproduction car.
I couldn't tell you which is which or whether either is a v.1 or v.2! lol
And I don't think my model will be that super accurate.

the S1 that went up Pikes Peak, was a shortwheel base

the S1 that Volker has up is a long wheel base, as is the one from ymjr

I think you might be referring to reproduction S1s.
I believe the Gehrt S1 is the Prospeed car.
http://www.unfallservice-gehrt.de/de...-gruppe-b.html

The repro cars are built on Quattro chassis' so they are long wheel base.

well I didn't know about those.

the racepaper models are pretty basic,
I don't care about those.

but the ymjr model is quite nice.
...and its 1/24 scale (which is what mine would be)

I guess theres not much point in wasting time on something
thats already out there.

Added a couple more BMW Group 2 race cars to the shop.

The 1975 Alpina BMW 2002
Info here

and
the 1975 Alpina BMW 3.0CSL
Info here

That completes the set of three BMW Group 2 cars.

And that will be it for the cars right now...
I want to get a few planes out of the way and focus on my Tank project.

I'll probably revisit some Race Car ideas in the future.
Thanks for your interest in this...the cars are always fun projects.
