Not really scientific...just a fun comparison.
B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber VS P-47 Thunderbolt Fighter The beautiful B17 proved its worth in WW2, but when you look at the numbers, it just can't compete with the effectiveness and practicality of the Jug! Crew required 10 vs 1 ...thats a lot of crew! and training, meals, medical and supplies. And a lot more lives at stake. Weight 54000lb vs 17500lbs ...considerably more, because its big. Big like the airfield it requires! Engines 4 vs 1 ...thats 4 times the fuel, 4 times the oil, 4 times the maintenance! Range 2000mi vs 1030mi ...surprisingly more, but is it? Speed 287mph vs 426mph ...hmmm ...Jug could land just about anywhere, refuel, and still beat the B17 to target! Guns 9x 50cal MG stations vs 8x 50cal MG ...thats 13 MGs, but spread between 7 crew members, pointing in different directions versus one guy firing 8 Guns at ya, all at once! Rockets 0 vs 10 ...yes, I said rockets. Bomb Payload 4800lbs vs 2500lb ...thats right! The Jug can carry more than half the payload of a B17! Armor none vs Cockpit armour plate ...you know you're comin' home in a Jug! .... On a Thunderbolt related not... I'm looking for someone to build a Jug kit. At 1/33 scale...don't need to build with cockpit and landing gear (if you don't want to). The supplied paper canopy is acceptable. But I need a skilled builder who can take a few high quality photos when its done. And I need it fairly quickly. So, if you are interested in a free kit...let me know asap

oh ok.
so you are just sharing your build with us....thats great Mike! I did already see (and comment) on this build in your thread, but thanks for posting it again! ... once again...still looking for someone to build a Jug kit. Actually, I have two kits now that need building. 1/33 scale...don't need to build with cockpit and landing gear (if you don't want to). The supplied paper canopy is acceptable (in fact preferred). But I need a skilled builder who can take a few high quality photos when its done. And I need it fairly quickly. So, if you are interested in a free kit (or two)...let me know asap

A dumb question- what is a Jug kit?
How quickly do you want it? |

I have done your P51 Miss America in cans, yep, 1/33 and plan to do your Texan and P47 as well.
Paper or cans, still struggling. |

You essentially answered your own question in your subsequent post, a Jug is a P-47 Thunderbolt

but you are most welcome to try one or both (if you like). I am looking for quick turnaround because I need to verify artwork alignment, and to publish the already completed models. But I am willing to be patient. ... As Rick says (thanks Rick) an early nickname for the P47 was "Jug". Originally, I believe it was more of an insult..."The Milk Jug"...because the fuselage resembled a metal Milk Jug. Once the plane proved itself as a worthy warplane, the insult was dropped. ... The story: I finally got around to creating a couple of Mexican Jugs. Its about time since I've had reference material since I first started creating the 2nd gen Thunderbolt paper model back in 2015! I also have photos of a Mexican T6. Anyway, I opted for these two Jugs (shown below) that depict the early and later markings of the USAAF supported Mexican Squadron.
