Ok, so I got the file. The "sand" color is more of a spinach smoothie green. I built the model,
and it is exactly what is needed for a quick "make and take" type class. Quick, easy, and
provides the opportunity for a complete beginner to have a try at building a paper model. The
locking tabs and the "locking" bar to help secure them are at the top ideas of the day category.

Thanks Dave, this is a perfect start for the kids.

Great work, Dave. And a remarkable flash-to-bang time to get the model designed, built, and refined.

We look forward to seeing kids building this next year at the Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days event.

Many thanks!

Don

lol you are probably right Ray!

I sampled the colour from a photo of a Humvee deployed in Kuwait.
Sometimes my colour blindness gets in the way.
I just assumed it was a "sand" colour...but green makes more sense.
(It also prints out a lot darker than it looks in the PDF)

Lets just call it "desert green". LOL

...
and Don...when it comes time, feel free to take the file and use as you will.
Two versions, use either or both, its up to you
But if you need a modified version...(maybe, say, adding a crest or logo to the vehicle, or replacing "ARMY")...
you will have to contact me for that.

As an aside, I am sending three of them with my son who is going to visit some friends.
He has agreed to try and get them (absolute beginners) to build them and give some feedback as well.

Mike (and others who keep asking these types of questions)...

When you download or purchase someone's model...and you want to make changes
for your own personal build or use...you do NOT have to always ask their permission.

If you plan on resharing a model with others, then you may need to first get permission to do that.
And if you plan any modifications, you will also need permissions for that (from the original designer).

But when building your own model, to use for your own personal enjoyment,
you can change anything you want on that model...and
you do not need to ask anyone's permission.

Enjoy yourself Mike!!
...
This model was made for a specific purpose.
For people (like Don Boose) to use at Military and Paper Modeling events as a giveaway
and learning tool.
I'm really not that interested in Humvees.
It was just an obvious choice.

The HUmvee is a really cool vehicle.
But the fact is I really do not like civilian Hummers.
I won't go into that.
So, I have to say "sorry, but I have no plans..."

In that case, how about an easy build Landie (for us non-Americans)?

actually that is a good idea.
I could add another "promo" model to the Humvee page.
And the LandRover is an excellent choice.

But...do we want something like a Heartbeat Land Rover?
or a Daktari Land Rover?
hmmm?

If the Humvee can last as long as the land Rover it will join an elite group of specialty vehicles.
The Jeep, the Land Rover, the Tuk Tuk...and the Humvee? lol
