That looks like a lot of my first airplane fuselages before I learned not to score the tab that runs the length of the fuselage ...

Started this today...still lots to do...
but I can't verify the vehicle's actual length. I thought I had the size...just over 20 foot. 243" to be exact. But i don't know where I got that. But now I am unsure. I don't have to be exact...at 1/64 scale who's gonna know? But it would be nice to get it close. Whomever finds the the correct length gets permission for breakfast Waffles. This is 1960 Challenger 1, not 1959 Challenger. Different body. Not just the supercharger covers.

What really amazes me beside the quality of your artworks and the simplicity of your designs is how fast you are to create them!!! You are one of a kind artist Dave.

Obviously there is a learning curve to any software. I have been using Corel for ten years, and I am still learning. I'm not saying someone can just start working in a program like Corel without some effort. But the things you can do in program like Corel, allow you to breeze through a lot of creation. What programs do you work in? To be fair, I do a lot of imagination creation. I design in my head. And I have a desk calculator always at hand. I can usually plan out and create in my mind the basics of a model design. Not that they all work...I have just as many failures as I do successes! I think, because I am an airbrush artist, and I learned a lot about fooling the mind and the eyes ...I apply a lot of airbrush technique to the way I colour and texture things.

(re. the earlier request for help with the Challenger 1 length measure)
On the topic of scale size... I decided to scale the Challenger to match the 1935 Railton-Bluebird. The Bud Rocket car, the Bloodhound SSC, the Diesel Phoenix... these are all about 1/64 scale. The Railton-Bluebird however, is about 1/54 scale. It would have been tough at 1/64, so like many of the KoolWheelz models, I went a bit bigger. Usually between 1/50- 1/55 scale. Based on overal length for the Bluebird (25') and wheelbase measurements, the model ended up at 1/54 scale. The Challenger 1 is only 20ft long...(or at least, thats what I would like to confirm). So at 1/54 scale, its still going to be quite small. I do not think anyone can build it at 1/64 scale. (I'm not including you psycho-micro-builders! I'm talking about normal folk.) I just printed out a test copy of the Challenger ...before I go any further, I need to see if I can handle the very small parts. If not, I will have to rethink the design.
