That's the one. I remember seeing a documentary on TV saying they were using the whole fuselage, but for some reason not the engine.

The engine is the only good part of an F104!! Ask the Germans.

Yeah. I figured if you wanted to go fast, the engine would be the important part.

LOL maybe thats why they haven't broken the sound barrier yet? LOL
They decided NOT to use the engine. "Seriously George...the F104 body is lickety split fast. Even without a motor. And we don't have to change the oil in the fuselage!"

Well, the F-104 does look like it's breaking the sound barrier just sitting there. Maybe they figured they'd just roll it out of the trailer and beat the record.

I just updated the Bloodhound SSC model...it was missing the small front winglets.
Just go download it again. ...or make the winglets yourself.

So what was that LSR idea Rick?
... everyone... Please, don't misunderstand my comments. I appreciate ideas and suggestions for model subjects. Theres just no way I can entertain them all ...and no way I will be interested in them all. And if I am not interested in it...then its no fun to work on. So I end up spending a lot of time saying "no" or trying to explain why I don't want to model that subject. In the end, people just get disappointed anyway. I can say "I'll add that to my to-do list!". But that often means "I don't want to do it, so I will add it to a really long list of projects and I will probably never get to it." lol Sometimes its easier to just do my own project ideas and ignore everyone elses. Except, there have been many times when suggestions have really caught my attention. LOL So be warned...I probably won't like your idea. ...don't expect a positive response. This way, when I try to be nice, it'll seem more sincere. hahaha Or, maybe I will love your idea and add it to my to-do list. (None of these is too serious)

To call that a "Truck" is completely unfair.
A "truck" can carry a non-essential load. (A "semi-truck" tows a non-essential load.) This is not a truck. Although it derives its front end styling and shape from a real "truck" its far removed from any truck that exists. It is very cool. I like it! But I also take issue with "fastest". I've been to two websites already that claim this to be the fastest diesel powered land vehicle". And it is not. The JCB Dieselmax is listed as the land speed record holder for diesel powered. 330mph. And there was another vehicle before that, still faster than this "truck". Adding the word "truck" seems to be the justification for the "fastest diesel" title. Obviously there are "classes". There must be a "truck" class. But this aint no truck! I will give it a new class: the "fastest diesel powered vehicle that resembles half of a truck, in some ways". Regardless, I do like the truck. The blend of 40s cab with hi-tech streamlined tail is very cool indeed. But I am afraid the nose and cab is too curvy, too rounded, for my koolwheelz methods and skills. I'll add it to my to-do list. lol Seriously, its something I will experiment with. If I can come up with a method (for small scale paper) then...

Don't get too excited (Rick)...lol...but I have been doing a little bit of photo research,
just experimenting with the basic shape and pattern for a model of the Phoenix truck. And, I have an idea. I notice that the body changed a little bit over the years. At one point, some extensions were added to the rear sides. (Not sure of other changes to the rear.) And at some point, the entire rear body is removed making it look more like a semi. Anyway, I am focused on the original design (not the one shown in the picture Rick posted) since it will be easier to design and might actually fit onto a single page. So unless you convince me otherwise, this will be the look ...if i ever get to it! lol
