you end up with a stick.
even the paint, if applied too heavy, makes the rope stiff.
(I just wipe on the paint with a rag)

when I first did the centurion cables, I soaked rope in CA glue and in PVA glue to smooth them out.
but, as I said, I ended up with rigid rope, not flexible "cables".

Well...I printed my third full set of Instruction Pages today
and finished my fourth complete edit!
I think I have found every spelling and grammatical error and corrected all the diagrams.
Today, I also started numbering all the Parts...up to Page 7 of 41 pages.
At this rate, I might be done in a week...or not. LOL

With the research, design and instructions, I reckon you are still making a loss. No idea how you and some of the others here are so productive. Glad you all are though.

If I understand you, you are suggesting I put in more effort and work than its worth (in sales).
And you are correct.
Thats why I have to be in charge, and find some interest in the project for my own satisfaction.
When I get suggestions for projects, there has to be a personal interest
or something that really gets my attention before I'll consider it.

And... the education I gain from researching and designing these vehicles is invaluable.
Learning about the history of the Autocar and Little Willie made those projects so worthwhile.
Although I must admit, I have not done much research into the Saladin,
other than what I have read in the Armour Profile Book I own.
I was going to buy another reference book, but it was too expensive for me, so I passed.
Everything else I have learned online...mostly just reference images though.

But in this case, I love the fact that there are not already any models of this vehicle (in paper),
another first for me!...
and the final result turned out better than I had hoped for.
Hopefully it won't sell too badly.

Once it's available for sale, I know I for one will be buying it.
