you need to look back through this thread ...I explained the colour change.
Please keep in mind, the camera sometimes makes the greens glow very strongly. Flash and close up photos are the wrost. In reality, the colours are a lot more muted and the colour difference is not as visible.. When I started working on the turret...about half way through this build... I was experimenting with a way to add more texture to the turret panels. I ended up with a whole new green and new green texture overlay. I liked the new look better than the old one, so I changed all the colours in the model. But, I was not going to rebuild the entire Hull at this point, so I did a little airbrushing on my model. Its not perfect, and as i said, it looks worse in some photos. Rest assured, the kit is all one colour.

I have to experiment with camera postion and focus settings.
Trick is getting the right shift with the two photos. You have to move the camera just the right amount depending on the proximity to the object. This photo is shot fairly close, and I think I shifted too much. I'll keep experimenting. [to view the 3D photo, use red/blue glasses]

Darn, I can't find my son's old red/blue glasses. Does it matter if red is left and blue is right? Or vice versa?

THATS IT!!!
Why did I forget about the Dinky?? Maybe its not an Airfix kit I am remembering...its the Dinky Toy!!! LOL I had many Dinky Toys in the 60s. ...I didn't have that one. But that is the mental image I had of the Quad. I just forgot it was a Dinky, not an Airfix kit. To be honest, most of my Dinky Toys were TV and Movie Cars. I had all the Captain Scarlet, and Joe 90... but I did have the Centurion. And I had many of the Corgi Toys too...like the Batmobile and James Bond's DB. Well...now my mental image is a bit clearer.

I'm gonna keep posting updates, so the project is not forgotten.
But with the completion of the prototype model, the work is now all computer work. I've finished the assembly diagrams and the 22 pages of Instructions. Just did a quick test print...going through them looking for necessary fixes. Next step is reorganizing all the parts...I don't have a count yet...into printable Parts pages. And, in the process, I can start applying numbers to all the Parts. I've already started numbering the Instruction pages, and those numbers will carry over to Parts pages. I've also started plans for a second Saladin kit, in Stone (Sand/Tan) colour. Basically an early 60s British Army in Libya paint scheme. I've done some colour tests, and printed some test parts, but I'll pick up the work when this first kit is completed. That'll probably be a couple of months from now. Stay tuned.

Slow Saladin to China continues to sail along...
Parts Pages are done! 41 pages in total. Parts aren't numbered yet...just Parts sorted onto the actual Parts pages. I am now re-editing the Instruction pages Fixing grammatical errors, adjusting diagrams, moving things around. I've got 11 of 22 pages edited... Once I get a few pages ahead, I'll start to add numbers. (I have numbered the first three pages already) Later on, I'll transfer Part Nos to the Parts pages. Thats all I have to say about that. .... oh...wait...one more thing...last page of Parts was only half full, so I needed something to fill the space. Decided to tackle the Tow Cables. Tow Cables are visible on some Saladins...not all...wasn't an important consideration, but it makes for an optional part and helps fill out the kit. report coming soon.

Dave - does it take very long to do the computer work ? Setting out the parts pages, creating the instruction sheets and all of the numbering, and proof reading. That's all a 'build' on its own, though of a different sort. Do you do all of the work solo ?
