Charlie...greasing the cables would result in dirt/dust attraction and constant dirt laden cables.
And they would be a mess to handle if you needed to use them. I wouldn't think this would go over too well with the crew. Just my opinion. ... William Shatner gets $150 per autograph at conventions. I think I'll offer auto-signed jpegs?

You're quite right - the lubricants for external use cables are waxes which don't
have the crud attracting properties of greases and oils. Regards, Charlie |

I'm just an airbrusher. Although, you'd think I knew a bit more since I'm an ex-auto mechanic. But we didn't have no fancy stuff like that. A tow cable in my shop, was a big rusty chain!

I never saw greased or lubricated cables in ten years on armoured vehicles, dull aluminium would be the colour most closely matching anything I have seen/used. Not relevant with a wheeled vehicle but on tanks they are very handy when changing a track as well as towing but then tanks would normally use a tow bar rather than a cable.

I didn't know there was already a model of the Morris.
why is this letting me off the hook? I already said I was working on a Morris model, so this doesn't change much. ...except maybe less people are interested now. couldn't you have posted bigger pictures? lol [shakes head] I don't know why I try.

Curiosity. Maybe a slightly perverse flavor of curiosity, but curiosity nonetheless.

And any version other than the actual hard copy out of the magazine, will be a pirated scan.

go for it, do the morris
Dave
The ABC Morris paper model is almost unobtanium unless you are willing to risk infection with exotic viruses by downloading if from a sleazy back alley web site, or get lucky and find a copy of the original magazine on ebay or through an Eastern European used book dealer. Go for it and do the complete Morris set, your version will have more greebles than the old ABC model, it will be a different model. That is one of the fun features of paper modeling, collecting different designers versions of the same subject. And yes there was a Dinky Morris, if only I had saved the box which is now more valuable that the toy that was in it ... |

Can anyone identify this patch/emblem for me?
I've seen it before. I think I have recreated it before. I just can't for the life of me remember where, when, how.... obviously, its on a Saladin in the desert in the 60s.
