Oh yeah, I want to see detailed step-by-step instructions on the stomping part!

I'm sure he could supply a great diagram of it, with a touch of Dave's whimsy, I'm sure

I like to pre-stomp my cardstock.
Gives it that "feet" smell we all know and love.

Don and Lil - Mission Complete

Working on the better-late-than-never principle and to document our completion of the build . . .

That is Lil in a tan felt cloche hat and waving while standing next to the U.S. Navy Bluejacket statue at the Navy Memorial across from the National Archives in Washington DC in September 2010. It is an image I keep on my desk, and it frequently appears in the background of my build images.

The image that Lil uses as her avatar is cropped from a photo of us on the fantail of the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force destroyer Shirayuki steaming in Sagami Bay during the 1990 JMSDF annual Naval Review. At the time, I was the Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Policies (J-5) of U.S Forces, Japan, and Lil was the Yokota Air Base commander's secretary.

I haven't posted any photos of my finished Bluebird because frankly, it looks terrible. Score lines cut too deep, mangled Canopy due to too much manhandling, poor color match on the Seams...

Maybe I need to revert back to practicing on scrap paper some more, before I try building another Model. I don't do very well on small parts.

Based on Bluejackets I have known, as well as a careful study of images of U.S. Navy enlisted personnel from the early 20s through the 1950s, it appears mandatory to put your hands in your pockets when you are wearing a pea jacket.
