There are various versions that lift to different heights.
On some high reach ones, the platforms are stepped.(raise to different levels)

Some of these units seem to have the ability to go pretty high, but I bet it makes them unstable.
You definitely wouldn't drive around with it like that.
And, with regards to a scale model, I'm already dealing with flimsy construction to keep the design simple, and parts to a minimum.

Fully extended would only be for a specific aircraft/model that requires it,
and how do I know what that is?

As I said before, I'm not designing kits for people to modify, or would require people to modify.
I have to design something to be built in a basic configuration.
...if a modeller decides to modify it, thats their choice, but it can't be a requirement.

Obviously I have to settle on a configuration that would suit most dioramas.
A fully extended position is (in my opinion) outside of that.

True, oh King, live forever.

Partway up is the optimal solution, in my view, especially if fully down to represent vehicles standing by is possible.

I've never seen a plane that would require the lift on the right.

Yeah, the scissor lift is good enough, please move on.
Let the builder decide for himself the height of the raised platform.

Okay, here it is.
Finally got this Container Loader sorted out.
Wasted too much time on this one...now hopefully I can get moving on some other equipment.

Plan now is to create a simpler version (2D wheels, less parts, etc) as the alternate 1/144 version.
Obviously any of the models can be scaled down to whatever you want (or upscaled).
But I will continue with this method for each model...a 1/100 scale more complicated version and a 1/144 simple version.

Then I have to create some assembly instructions and the basic page(s) layout.

Then...move on! lol

C'mon Dave, work on something that brings in the doug.
How and why you set the priorities is all up to you.
