OKAY...TWO NEW KOOLWHEELZ MODELS PUBLISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/591516-post1855.html Now, pay attention, heres the deal.... The first build I see (of the James Bond DB5 or Red Baron), will begin the release of the next two KoolWheelz models. (I'll use the vote count to pick the next releases? does that sound okay?)) You got two models to choose from....unfortunately they're not easy builds. LOL You picked 'em! Build however you like...I'll even allow upscaling (lol) and post a pic or two here. First person to do so might also get an extra prize. I don't know what yet...I have no idea...don't be surprised if you get nothing! lol Have fun...let me know what you think.

I wish the timing were better. I would have liked to be first, but I won't be able to start until Thursday. Surely I won't be first

More images later. This one just to establish that I completed the Aston-Martin DB-5 at 1350 EDT 7 August 2017.

Just for practice
I'll try to take a week on the next one.
Hope I am not disqualified for making 3d wheels. I took the diameter of the wheels (13mm) and multiplied by pi to get a circumference of 41mm (that there is mathematics, that is), swabbed some card with black Faber-Castel ink, then cut out four wheels (Images 1 and 2). Punched out the machine gun muzzle covers with my drill punch (Image 3). The other construction shots show the Don Weeks (rockpaperscissors) Automovile Moderne in the background (the Conodoguinet Motor Car Company Pty Ltd has been busy today). Four shots of the completed model. I was surprised and dismayed to see that the top of the windshield/windscreen does not match up with the side windows, especially on the near side. I thought I had been particularly precise with that join, but either my hand shook or my astigmatism betrayed me. Very deftly designed, Dave! Thanks. Don |

Don...you named the car wrong.
Aston models are named after David Brown DB (not BD)...and there shouldn't be a dash in the model name (DB5) Black Registration Number Plate goes on the rear. White one on the front. I didn't label them, but it is visible in the assembly photos on the model sheet. ... The front guns were single shot gun barrels (tubes really). Hidden behind the small front turn signal lamps (which just flipped open and down). Unfortunately a bit too small to represent well on the model. The builder can modify as they wish (as you have done Don). ... re: Wheel treads...I was thinking of including them as an optional item but I didn't have much room left on the sheet...so I didn't. Another builder modification. ... The windshield is definitely a tricky one to line up. It might not be perfect. You have to start by lining up the front of the roof precisely. It takes a bit of patience. Even I didn't get it right. I could have left the windscreen to end on the front panel, but I wanted those curved wraparound upper corners. Which makes it more difficult to line up. My apologies.

Bond DB5 build nets you one new model. The 1972 Ford Capri The Red Baron will get you another release!! Porsche 935 I'll need a day or two to prepare. I didn't think you guys would be this quick!

Thanks for the additional info. Not sure how I got the license numbers mixed up. I knew which ones where to go where. "if anything can go wrong . . ." Will fix.
