I have started my favorite Bond vehicle, and I will post some of the build pictures in a quick build thread

okay, Porsche 935 is published!

http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/592085-post1890.html

Same challenge applies.
I am waiting on a build of this model (Porsche 935) to release the next KoolWheelz (the James Garner Grabber Olds).

Have fun!

Holy fast-folding-paper BatDon!

What has happened to you?
You have become a furious folder...a galloping gluer...a brisk builder!

And your KoolWheelz builds are better than mine now! lol

How did you fare with the rear fenders on that one?
I have it marked as an Advanced build...did you find it difficult?

okay then....I'll release another KoolWheelz model...tomorrow?

No problem with the rear fenders, Dave. I downloaded and printed out your assembly instructions, which helped - although I missed the instruction not to score the fuselage sides until it was too late.

I added quick and dirty 3d wheels (Image 1).

Here is the set (since the last post, I cut out the Porsch emblem and added it to the base. Image 2.

While I had no problem with the 935, I did have problems with the 917k. Not the fault of the design. I wasn't able to adhere the upper body assembly to the main body cleanly and it scrunkled up the body somewhat. I am going to build another one more carefully. I include an image, even though this model is not part of the Release Party and it is a sad excuse of a paper model with lots of gaps and wrinkles. Image 3.

Probably won't build the Garner Olds, but will wait for the Audi. Meanwhile, will make a second attempt at the 917k, finish my Automovile Moderne and, after the Audi, go back to airplanes.

Thanks for all the neat, beautifully-designed, models and for this enjoyable project.

Don

I love your little stands.
Are they all paper/card?
Or are they actually wood?

I would really love to add something like that to my own collection.
But with about 100 models, it would take me too long time to build them all,
and I really don't have the room on my shelves.
I barely have room for the car models themselves.
I am struggling now to display them all!

I don't know where the stands originated, but I got the patterns for several different sizes from Don Weeks (rockpaperscissors) and have been accumulating various patterns for ground, pavement, runways, grass, and so on. I will check with "rps Don" to see where he got them from (or if he designed them). They are paper and go together very quickly.

I just finished the DB5, and only one modification i made, i can make the bullet proof screen go up or down, i inserted a centimeter wide piece of scrap paper underneath the slot on the body, and made a single cut in that piece to make friction between it and the screen.

Hope you like it, I did.

Rick

Looks good, Rick. I especially like the one with anti-gravity capability in Image 3. I want to see the working bullet proof screen in action at the IMPC in November.
