You'll be able to figure it out. There's a helpful illustration. I had to tell myself 'not this week' several times or else I would have printed it off too

There is a certain irony making a wood truck out of paper

Not yet, but working on it

My first attempt is not turning out too well. Lack of precision in scoring and cutting plus failure properly to pre-form the tank made it impossible to shape same.

Am working on the second attempt at the tank.

Over.

Are you telling me this should be relabeled as a Medium skill level kit?
I was honestly on the fence about Easy or Medium.

As a helper, you could take a thin piece of paper
and trace one of the end plates of the Tank.
Glue the tracing to some cardstock and cut it out.
But make sure you cut inside the outline...about .5mm or so.
Glue it to another layer of cardstock and cut it out again.

Now you have a stiff former that you can use in the center of the tank.

Roll and form the tank shell...join the ends.
Then slide the former into the center and glue in place.
Then fold and attach the end plates.

Just an idea, if you are really stuck.
