So here's my build of Stage Fright. Not as talented as many others here, so if it came out all right for a paper shredder like me it will be really great in the right hands. The baggage rails are too intricate for my clubby fingers to do justice, so I duplicated the sheet and made the brown color for both sides. Instead of a toothpick I used a wire from a paper clip for the steering column. I also hand-fabricated a dashboard and windscreen, probably not accurate but works for me. And I reinforced the headlights with CA glue. Thanks Dave!

Look good from here. You did well on the wheels and those give many of us fits.

yeah, looks okay to me too.
not sure about that dash and windshield. what made you add that? other than that, the build looks fine to me. no reason to think its sub-par in any way.

Little Willie Query
Dave -
Was tied up for a while with lecture preps, writing projects, Lil's birthday, and Thanksgiving visits by adult offspring and the grandsons (who fixed everything in the house that needed fixing, put up the tree, and cleaned up the garage), but now I hope to finish some more KoolWheelz. Am I assembling the hull of Little Willie correctly? Specifically, is the hull insert going in the right way? Image 2. Do you plan on publishing illustrated instructions for the Bricklin and the Pontiac? I think I have figured out how they go together, but your illustrated instruction sheets are always helpful, tend to save me from my own stupidity, and are very nice to look at. Don |

I think sometimes we over-analyze and complicate things.
Trust your first instincts. In this case, I really believe that the photos of the finished model and the basic instructs on the model sheet, are enough. Thats why I didn't bother with an Instruction sheet. You prove this with your Little Willie assembly. Looks like you got it all under control. I think the Bricklin is pretty straightforward. Enough that it doesn't need an Instruction sheet. (Unless I see more questions or complaints) The Parisienne too, is fairly easy to figure out using the supplied photos. But, I would agree that the Hood extension is a tricky part because of its size. And it requires scoring and folding into a unique shape. I assumed that the larger photo of the assembled Pontiac showed the model clear enough to assist the builder in their assembly. Am I wrong? If there are other requests, I might consider an assembly sheet for that one.

Thanks, Dave. I think I can figure it all out, especially with your close up of the Pontiac.
I just like to pour over your art work! Hope to finish Little Willie this evening and get started on one of the others tomorrow - still have to complete Elvira's Macabre Mobile, which I started at the IPMC. Eventually, I also have to replace all the name plates for the previous KoolWheelz, since I consistently misspelled "KoolWheelz" on all of the bases (if it is possible to get it wrong, I will do so). Now, I am off to the USAWC to rehearse my introduction to the film, MacArthur. Cheers, Don |
