I saw it...

I saw your build at that con. It was excellent and it impressed me. I have such a hard time with my work schedule getting to build, so seeing your exceptional work in November was inspirational. Those bustards are a challenge, but I have an idea...

Okay, one more...

Okay, thanks. I just try to respect the designer's wishes, rules, law, or whatever. Respect doesn't require a jury!!! I'll play a bit with this one and then maybe forward some ideas if they work out. If they don't, I'll keep it secret!!!

Thanks much Dave! This is an interesting version of this excellent ship! It appears simple to build and clean in graphics. I look forward to exploring the craft, having recently built your original series Galileo and was quite impressed with that kit. I have wanted to build this for a while and find it an interesting connection to both the original series and the laminated series, upgraded for the movie time period. Many of the animated signs were never explored in paper, so this one reflects a natural evolution of all three and is a great contribution to the shuttles of Trek. Thanks again...

Looks like the movie one has landing lights underneath.
I guess I could have added those.

Great work!

The Movie version also had a hundred thousand dollar budget and a team of several builders... Actually, those are not landing lights but supposed to represent a gravity fusion for smooth landing; a sort of combination of thruster power used by the first Galileo and the magnetic cushion used by the TMP shuttle (the wedge design in the shuttle bay). There were several of these shuttles. Two full sized mock ups were built for the sound stage (both later revamped for later productions before falling into disrepair) and two small filming models a few feet long. There were actually slight differences between the full-sized mock ups and the miniatures. This shuttle was significant for being the first fully shown during a film. TMP had the Vulcan long range shuttle, similar in design to the one glanced in the bay of 1701, but the car was much larger Your kit is valuable in that this era is often not well represented in shuttle paper models. No one has ever tried doing the space dock shuttles of STIII (which were then feature din several movies and TV episodes), probably because its shape is intimidating and detail intensive. The shuttle used in STVI was only done by one other designer. Works were well done, as well as the travel pods. Someone did a good model of the TMP shuttle, after years of wait. Shuttles in the animated series have been all but forgotten. The show ran a year and a half and produced a ton of now forgotten, and un-modeled, ships. Your contribution harkens back to TAS while respecting the value of a STV shuttle presence. It really looks clean and I am already scheming with it! Thanks!

Anyone else immediately think of the scene of the giant hand holding the Enterprise in the original series episode "Who Mourns For Adonis"?
