Darn - didn't see the visual reference, too busy looking at the great model.

Some models are now released with the addition of an "assembly diagram" or "assembly sheet".
And for that post (on my forum) I use a photo that illustrates the size of the model.
An "in hand" photo (as I call them).

But some models are more awkward to hold...with my left hand...
while I operate the camera with my right...and still show what I want to show.
I remember fumbling with this one until I grabbed it in this position and immediately saw the TOS reference.

So, I deliberately continued with the pose and took the photo thinking it would be obvious to everyone.
Because you all love ST-TOS right?...as much as I do, right?

You prefer TOS over any other Trek entity right, and live by the original canon, right?

None of what came later in the animated series, in the comics, in TNG or in the ST movies matters....right?
Thats all just made up stuff...after the fact...

if it wasn't in the original series, it doesn't matter! hahahahahahahahaahah

I know...I know...I should have made my hand transparent!

Your separate build diagrams are appreciated, as they make teaching youth easier with your kits. They are good instructions.

Thanks again~

Heck, I'm so far behind on models. That real life thing is keeping me from building anything these days.

Well, okay...

It's Monday and I have an update on the old Galileo build.

I wasn't happy with my rush job on the kit, so before rebuilding it, I thought to explore some enhancements for the final look and experimented on my initial poor-build of this nice little kit, to consider what I will put into the next one.

I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll only post some musings.

I also want to make it clear that i am not suggesting that Dave didn't make a great kit; I love it. i am just always fussing about how to add detail or accuracy, as any of you might have noted in my previous build threads. My investment in enhancing this kit is a testament to how much i like and want to build upon it.

One idea was to create a layered effect for the impulse engines in the aft section...

And then...

Another idea was to add a double layering of the bow section. I wanted a double layer to add a depth to the darkened window section, to convey a "sill" around the three-ports area, as two layers, slightly different in cut around the windows suggests a place where the window shades could slide up.

Also explored is a single layer of stock paper, printed, to create the curved foil-ledge along the dorsal sides. To do this I cut just a bit more that suggested with the cutting lines; about 3mm. If this works, 'll curl the edges to create the atmosphere foil effect. Maybe I'l also cut out the doors and re-glue them to suggest real seems? If I am real ambitious, should I cut a layer over the windows to add depth?

If the effects work, I may try to erase the cut line before reprinting, or moving it upward 3MM to guide a straight cut. I used regular paper but might experiment with a 67b stock instead?

I'm also examining how to remove the joining-seem along the edges. I love how this kit pulls together, creating great wings, but I'd lie to clip the heavy seem beyond these wings to mince the flush look of the original prop.

I'm still experimenting on the bussard globes and the possible detail of the stern and bow sensor and access bays. I wish I had the design skills to develop alternate script for the names and designation font...

Life gets in the way...again...no model yesterday (in case you didn't notice).
I'll get around to it sometime before next Tuesday.
I promise.

Heres a teaser: "A-Team? Whats an A-Team?"

We noticed, Dave! (That's why I posted what I did)

Hmm... "I pity da fool!" (who doesn't get your reference)
