Those tabs need to be darker Purple too.
This colour is a real problem. If the top panel does not cover the tabs enough, a lighter band is left around the vehicle. And edge colouring is difficult too. The top panel edge is very visible and adds to the "light band". The actual prowler colour, I would say, is more a maroon Purple. But it is covered with a Pearl top coat. In bright light it can become quite bright and I actually sampled a lighter more pinkish hue from a Prowler photo. The darker deep purple blended too closely with the black interior and panel lines. I didn't like it. Thats why I shifted to the more pinkish purple, for better contrast. But, as I admit, its a very difficult edge colour to match. I used middle gray myself. I really think those tabs (on the body sides) should be darker coloured though. Okay...I modified the Prowler model sheet. I darkened the glue tabs and modified the body colour in various places.

Another tip...after the body is assembled and the glue is fully dried,
I ran the side of my Knife handle around the seam. I gently curved over the top panel edges and rounded them into the sides. Any smooth burnishing tool would work...I like my metal Knife handle. I also use the middle edges of my polished Tweezers. Smooth and rounded. Trick is to give a little curve to the angled connection and blend the top panel (into the sides) a little more.

When I printed it off, I thought it was too dark, though it looked good on screen. This is more of a test build, so I went ahead and worked with it. I was really just wanting to see if my windshield tweak would work, and I think it looks good. Also wanted to see if adding an overlay to the running board and rear fender would enhance things, and I'm not thinking it helped, but that could be due to the darker tint

So, I just uploaded a new Prowler model sheet.
Made a couple of changes to the colours, the outline colours and other small details. I also fixed the upper trunk mounted Brake Light on the Yellow car. I noticed the error on the purple car before I released the model. The red light was missing I made the correction on the purple car, but forgot to transfer the fix to the yellow one. Anyway a new model sheet has been uploaded. .... Tip to shaping the windscreen. After you curve the windscreen to match the shape of the Dash/Interior, apply a stronger bend out near the ends of the Windscreen. Note the dotted lines in the following photo. The very ends should angle slightly... this will allow you to straighten out the top edge of the Windscreen. The bottom is heavily curved to match the shape on the car body but the top should be straighter...as straight as you can get it. Its going to want to curve, but if you shape it while you glue the inner and outer layers it will hold its shape as the glue dries.

I must say, I am disappointed to not see any more builds (Prowler or otherwise)!
okay, its been a week...lets keep it going!... the next 2018 Koolwheelz release is the ASTON MARTIN DBR9 GT1 (DB Race for those who don't get it) The DBR9 is the "race" version of the AM DB9 Road Car. Lets face it...nothing is more British than Aston Martin, and Aston has produced some of the most beautiful road cars of the last 100 years. With their hand made approach, they have a standard of excellence that rivals any other luxury and exotic carmaker. And Aston has proven itself on the track aswell winning countless numbers of races and race series throughout its 100 year racing history. The DBR9 signaled Aston Martin's return to racing after a 40 year hiatus in 2005...and in 2007 Aston Martin triumphed at leMans once more.. DBRs competed in both GT1 and GT3 classes, with the early GT1 cars being powered by the iconic DB9 V12 engine. The Race cars actually retained the chassis, engine block, and cylinder heads of the DB9 road car's V12 engine. I had a variety of paint schemes to choose from but in the end I decided to go with British Racing Green and some common markings. This model is not intended to be representative of any specific DBR9. Everything you need is here: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/610095-post2170.html

This one (the Aston DBR9) surprises me ...
I thought there would be a ton of feedback on this one. The model is boxy and simplified but looks like what its supposed to. I have relied heavily on artwork and graphics. It feels a lot more like the roots of Koolwheelz models. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. And...the subject matter is a truly gorgeous racecar. I honestly thought there would be more fans of this one. A little over 30 downloads in the first 24 hours. Thats fairly average. Anyone giving it a try?
