VK I know there's already a Koolwheelz Black Beauty, but that is the TV version, I'm thinking abojt the Seth Rogen Green Hornet movie. I'm most probably wrong, but it's my guess.

that movie came out a few years ago.

we are looking for a car or other vehicle that starred in a movie, and sequels, starting sometime in the 1980s, and was part of a comedy

Rickster - Police Academy, I thought the movie the model is from was categorised as a Comedy, not a 'tragedy '.

Interesting guess....but no.

The very first film was filmed in my backyard...and okay.
But the sequels were awful.
I think I only ever saw the first sequel anyway.

Nah.

But I'm curious...how you got any of that from the Poster clue?
