Dave's Websites & Security Warnings (Phishing)

It has been brought to my attention that a security/malware warning appeared related to my website.
This is strictly a Norton users issue.

It is related only to cutandfold.info (which is actually just my "jump-page" to all three of my sites)
and it is also related to my paper model Forum: cutandfold.info/cutandfoldforum (papermodelforum.com).

This is actually the second recent report about this issue.
Another fellow with Norton security reported this to me.
Its something new...for Norton users only...
I've checked, and dozens of other visitors are not getting this alert.

And I am looking into it.
Just don't want you to think I am involved in anything nefarious.

90% of visitors to my websites are looking for the Koolwheelz models.
I am approaching 1 million downloads of my Koolwheelz model collection (135 different free models)
with no complaints like this, so far.
And I really enjoy sharing them with others...thats why this concerns me.

I can assure you there is nothing malicious on any of my websites (that I have put there).
I also don't have any paid advertising or advertisements, other than a few of my own links to my other websites.

The warnings appear to be related to Norton's reaction to Google analytics and Cloud based backups.
Google monitors a lot of different activity as part of its support and back-up systems,
and the hidden Google files (collecting various types of information) are what is setting off Norton's "phishing" warnings.
I have a report from Norton pointing directly to one of these Google document folders (which has since been deleted).

I am looking into removing google analytics from the main directory of files where my websites are hosted.
I think this is part of the File Host's backups.

This does not affect my main websites Dave's Card Creations or PaperModelShop,
which are not hosted at the same place as the "jump-page" and the Forum.
Unfortunately many people go through the cutandfold.info jump-page to get to my sites.

I share the free Koolwheelz models on Dave's Card Creations ...I sell models through PaperModelShop.
All my models are digital downloads in PDF form and I handle the distribution.
When you click to download a model on my site, you are transferred to another, even more secure site for the download.

My files are all uploaded to my Mediafire storage where they are thoroughly scanned by Mediafire's security.
I couldn't upload a malware infected file even if I wanted to...Mediafire wouldn't let me.
When you download a file, you are getting a clean virus-scanned PDF.
Rest assured, whatever problem Norton thinks it's seeing at cutandfold.info, still has nothing to do with anything downloaded from me.

Thanks for the heads up. Not that I am a Norton user but still good to know just in case.

Hopefully all this faffing about won't hold up the next Koolwheelz!

Yes I know. Please send me some extra time and I will be more than glad to.

On another note it is weird that so many are having website issues. Ecards, Murph and now Dave.

I get your point...it does seem like things happen in groups.

But...Murphy didn't really have an issue did he?
Just some people couldn't open his site...their own cache and browser issues.

And my site doesn't have a problem...its Norton that has the problem! lol

Then...Ecards...is more of a "hit the limits of what the site can offer" problem.
As well as a bit of negligence trouble.
There are always many updates and patches constantly required...but many of them are risky to install.
So a lot of site owners tend to let them pile up and eventually the site gets way out of date.
My Forum is like that. LOL
But as I said, with ecards, there may not be a point to updating the site when the system is at its limits.

I have to be blunt...
just telling me that you had a problem downloading a file or getting to a page isn't helpful
without proof, evidence of the occurance, or facts to help diagnose the problem.

I've had a couple of reports recently of people trying to access a Koolwheelz download
and when they are clicking on a Model subject, they are blocked from getting to the mediafire download page.
(The page that actually has the download link for the model PDF)

This appears to be an issue with security software blocking access to sites for some specific reason.
Like Public Library computers blocking access to various Internet locations and activities.

If this occurs, and you are blocked in way getting to any part of my website
or blocked trying to access a model file (download), please let me know.

Also, if you experience any sort of warning of malicious activity or content
from any part of my website or with any download, please let me know.

Please keep in mind, I require screengrabs of the warnings/blocks.
Please instantly take a screengrab(capture) of whatever you see and send it to me.
I am trying to report these issues to mediafire, but they are requesting more specific information
along with details of the operating system and related software to recreate the instance.

...
How to ScreenGrab-Capture-Print Screen

Every Windows operating system has a Print Screen Key.
PrtSC is usually found to the right of the F12 key, somewhere above your Delete key.

Whatever is on your screen is captured when you press this key and saved on your "clipboard"(memory).
Every time you press the Key, you overwrite the last screengrab.

To view and save the screengrab, you need to open the image in a Graphics editor.
If you don't use an artwork program, try using Windows Paint.
Go to Start (bottom left of your screen) and click All Programs.
Look for Accessories and then find Paint.
Its installed in every Windows operating system.
Open Paint and press Control(Ctrl) and the V key (this is the paste function).
The screengrab image should appear in Paint...now just save the image as a jpeg, wherever you want.
Upper left corner, drop down menu, choose Save As...)

Thanks
