These are all beautiful works of art and great representations of famous aircraft.

When people began talking about dogfights with gliders, it brought back memories of glider dogfights with my Baltimore Buddy, Jim Reuter (JimR in this Forum), back in the 50s.

I also thought about pointing out that in December 1941, Dornier 24K flying boats of the Dutch Marine Lucht Dienst (MLD - Royal Netherlands Naval Air Service) in what was then the Netherlands East Indies were involved in air to air encounters with Japanese G3M2 Type 97 bombers and H6K ("Mavis") flying boats. Tom Womack describes an event on 17 December in which Dornier 24K X-30 of MLD GVT (Air Group) 5 closed with an H6K that was attacking a Dutch patrol vessel "in what might well have been the first dogfight in history between [large multiengine] flying boats." [The Dutch Naval Air Force Against Japan: The Defense of the Netherlands East Indies, 1941-1942, Jefferson, NC: McFarland, 2006, p. 62.]

Before the combat broke off, each flying boat crew had knocked out an engine and inflicted other damage on its adversary. On 23 December, two Dorniers (X-20 and X-22) of GVT.3 engaged two H6Ks in a flying boat furball. [Ibid., p. 63]

I decided not to say anything about this on the assumption that multi-engine gliders would be too hard to do.

And then Dave went and did a Hercules glider . . .

Don

The Paper Gliders are published and available!

Heres the deal...

from now on, free models like these will only be available through my forum (cutandfold-papermodelforum.com)

You'll notice, on my website, the Easy-Build models (Vehicles and Gliders)
are all still there, but the links for each model take you to the Forum to download.

I have a section on my forum (Free Stuff) in the Dave's Card Creations area
where you access all the free downloads.

This of course means, that you have to be a registered member of the Forum.
This helps me control to who and where the models go.

Stop whining.
Registration is free and painless.
Your info is private just like on any forum.
You don't have to post or be active on the forum...but you have to sign up.

If anyone ignores the rules that come with models like the Easy-Builds, I can control their access to the models.

Thats it for now...I can't make this a new career.

Look what Koolwheelz have done to me!

Thats not to say that I won't revisit this in the future (with a whole new set of Gliders),
but for now, I am done with these.
I really need to work on something bigger ...and something with retail potential.

Great work with beautiful graphics.
You made me see Ojimak's planes over and over again.
Good to hear some "real" stuff coming......like the Saracen, hopefully.
