opposing viewpoints...always the best for seeing both sides! lol

I think the "print on silver" paper is a good idea
as long as the coloured areas will print properly for you?

many printers rely on transparent inks over a white background to produce the proper colours.

although I haven't planned this (up to this stage), I don't think it would be too difficult to include extra parts without the gradient grey.

my colour layers, are for the most part, all separate...so I should be able to remove a colour layer.

I will definately look at this once I have the repaint finished.

That sounds wonderful. I have access to a printer that does not use transparent inks. I have used it to print on the Red River silver paper with excellent results.

Charles - I would love to see how that turns out

Dave - I think your standard ship stand could easily be modified to work. Make it taller (ok much taller) with the center front and back removed to show the wing. The V on one side would be lower for the tail and on one side higher to cradle the cockpit.

Of course being a terrible designer I may be making it too simple
Chris

LOL
center front and back removed...doesn't that kinda leave with you with a base bottom and a plane...but nothing in between?! lol

I'm not sure I know how to make that stand work...but for the time being, I'm gonna finish the repaint, and then I'll look at possible stand designs.

unless someone comes up with any other options.

I do agree with Charles, that the builder can create their own display options.
I may just suggest that it be built "wheels up" for artistic effect.

so, as far as the colours are concerned...I will attempt to produce a "white" version of the repaint aswell.
I think very few people would have access to the right kind of printing (to print on silver paper)
but if I can sort out the colour layers, I will make this version available too.

am I leaving this kit at 1/48 scale?

yes it will leave it without much but thats the point to give the feel of flight if it needs to be stronger maybe string can be used across the fron and back to hold it together....

I think I may have come as far as I can ...without seeing a "test build".

I believe all the colours, artwork and most of the small details are in place.
But before I do any more work, I need to verify the fit and position of all the major graphics and colours.

I'm also working on a stand idea, and I would like to see some actual measurements from the completed model to help with the design.

Is there a specific thread for this request? or should I just ask it here?
"I need a volunteer, to Beta build the Red Bull Sea Vixen"

I think this model requires a somewhat experienced builder,
who can complete the model within a short time frame.
Obviously I want to get the repaint completed as soon as possible
so we can get it into the Shop and available for sale,
... a speedy build is desirable!

If you are interested, please PM me.

asking for a beta build here is good and it would be best if the beta build took place in this thread to keep it all together as part of the paint process

I think we may have a Test Builder lined up!

and we will hopefully get the Beta Build underway,
and post some reports here.

This should be a fun build!
( for me anyway...all I have to do is watch...lol)
